Do you remember the Nike phrase, “just do it”?

This week at our Bible study on post, the leader of the group gave a short tidbit of her testimony.
She also spoke some about Joshua, and about having courage, and about fearless faith!
She said something so powerful, that resonated deep within me. “Do It…Afraid!” Then she said, “Courage is forged in the midst of fear.”
About a year ago, I read or should I say skimmed though one of Beth Moore’s books called, “So Long Insecurity”.
In this particular book, Beth told of how she would allow her imagination to run rampant with the worst case scenarios. Of tragic events that could or
possibly would happen to her.
She would plan the whole event out in her mind and the devastation that would follow.
The Lord spoke to her one day and said, If you’re going to borrow the sorrow from events that haven’t taken place,
then you might as well borrow Me intervening and restoring the situation. (my paraphrase)
I do the same exact thing! I imagine horrible situations and allow my thoughts to get so out of control that it destroys me emotionally and spiritually.
After reading Beth Moore’s book, I have learned to make conscience decisions to take every thought captive, and for someone like myself,
and my very vivid imagination, it is difficult to say the least.
But with God’s help, and my determination to not be destroyed, I am able to catch myself and take those thoughts into captivity.
Along with a vivid imagination, those thoughts and feelings of fear tend to join the party.
So when I heard the words, “Do It Afraid!”
I thought, that’s it! It is better to step out and do something afraid, than to do nothing afraid!
Did you get that? It is better to do something afraid, than to do nothing afraid!
Faith is all about stepping out with whatever feeling or emotion you have, then allowing God to provide the next step.
That’s the ticket..faith is doing “IT” afraid!
Whatever your “it” is today….just step out and do it….even if you are afraid!
I pray that this thought from our women’s group, will strike a chord with you as it did with me, and that you just step out and do it afraid!
You got this, and God’s got you!
Have a blessed Friday!
