Hi there lovelies! I am so excited to be back sharing this month’s theme for Thursday Threds at Life Up On The Hill, and that is Dress Fest! Yep, we’re talking dresses this month..dresses for the young and a little bit older..lol! After my upbringing, which was primarily dresses, as an adult I have not been as interested in dresses as most ladies may be. I just never felt comfortable in them….maybe it was the pantyhose we had to wear with them as young girls that drove me crazy..I don’t know but whatever it was, once I got married, I kinda swore off dresses…pantsuits it was. Until the past few years…I discovered the art of tanning ones legs during the summer and leggings for the winter. That seemed to be the ticket, so now dresses don’t bother me as much, especially with all these cute little boutiques popping up everywhere selling the cutest dresses. Over the next few Thursdays, the LittleMrs and I will be sharing some of our favorite dresses to end the summer.
Today, we’re styling this dress from Ross. Seriously, Ross has the best selection for dresses and shoes! You really can’t beat their prices especially in these 2 departments.
This 3/4 roll button sleeve navy blue dress is so comfortable and perfect to wear with flats or heels. Today, littlemrs is wearing these pink/tan ballet flats…sooo comfortable yet stylish and yes, she purchased them at Ross as well.
Here’s the deets for this dress:
Dress: Speed Control New York @Ross // Shoes: Report @Ross // Necklace: Jewelry Show
I wanted to show you two dresses this week, to somewhat make up for our little vacay from Thursday Threds!! This next dress is more dressy, but I think without the jacket and maybe some flats, you could easily take it from business dress to casual.
The littlemrs and I have talked a lot about different dresses/outfits that are more suited for someone 20-something versus someone 40-something! However, every once in a while, there is an outfit that grabs both our attention and we begin to think how it could be styled to fit both age ranges.
I would have to say that this dress would be a perfect example of that….a 20-something could lose the jacket and even pair it some flats or strappy sandals. A 40-something could wear it as she has here, even though she clearly is not over 40. The way she is styling it here is very professional and office-work appropriate, but I could see myself wearing this..I would have to buy a much different size tho…..lol!
Here’s the deets:
Dress: Jealous @Ross // Jacket: Edge @Ross // Heels: Aerosoles @Ross // Watch: Gift
So here ya go…2 dresses that are very affordable, stylish and could very easily work for either age range…..which makes me happy. Why let the young gals have all the cute dresses, right?
Thank you for taking time out to follow our Thursday Threds! We hope we inspire you to create your own fashion.
I’d love it if you’d come follow me on Facebook, and Instagram!
