!ALERT Special Weather Statement….
it’s what goes across the screen of my phone after the alert sound is made.
My youngest knows that sound and when he hears it, he immediately finds my phone to verify what he has just heard.
He’s a worrier just like me…that’s not good!
The weather alert is for a tornado. He mildly panics and runs up to his room to grab as many Legos as he can and places them in a clear tote to take to the basement in the event a tornado strikes.
Now, he is perched at the top of the stairs right outside his doorway and waits!

He has never been in a tornado or anything quite that severe, but for whatever reason it has become a huge deal in his little 8 year old mind.
I told him that I would be honest and tell him if a tornado was really coming and would explain what he needed to do. His father and I have also reassured him that we would protect him and never allow anything to harm him.
I asked him if he trusted me and he answered yes. I asked him if he knew that I would NEVER let anything hurt him and again he answered yes.
Yet, in spite of all our reassurances, and information, he still gets upset.
I told him that, if he truly trusts me, then he will relax and let me take care of him.
During this whole conversation with my precious little one, it was like I could hear God saying the same thing to me.
He asks us if we trust Him, and we answer yes, but we still panic, worry and allow fear to consume us.
There is a peace in trust!

We can have that peace that He will take complete care of us if we will just let go and trust Him.
I have to admit, after about 20 minutes of my little person stressing, I got a bit aggravated and told him, “look I said I have it, now stop worrying”…LOL! I wonder if God looks down and thinks….
“Look I said I got this, now stop it already”!!!!
In my case???? I’m sure He does.
I’m thankful for His sweet reminder today, that He’s Got This!!!
Have a blessed day!!
