Easy Watering System
Have you ever wondered how to keep your hanging plants in full bloom and healthy? Once they leave the store or nursery, it seems to me, that they are so hard to keep alive.
They dry out so quickly and I feel like I just can’t keep them watered enough.
The ones I bought at our local nursery were so beautiful and healthy, I surely wanted to them to stay that way. I remembered seeing the plants connected to a watering drip system and thought, there has to be a way to duplicate that.
So off to Lowe’s I went!
Sure enough, I found exactly what I was looking for…..a watering system.
I started with this..
1/4″ vinyl tubing, t-connectors, elbow connectors, on/off valves, & faucet valve. I had the faucet timer already, so now I was all set.
Once I connected the faucet valve to the timer at the faucet and added the tubing, I then ran the tubing up the patio brick walk and secured at the top along where I would be installing the system.
I found black cable brackets in the cable aisle. They came 20 or 25 to a pack for around $5.00.
The cable brackets secure the tubing the porch.
Next, I used the t-connectors to splice the tubing in order to add tubing that drops down into the hanging plant.
I weaved the tubing through the hanging chain.
The on/off valves are at the end of the tubing inside the plant.
This was a super easy project. I set the timer to water them twice a day for about a minute or two.
They are so full of blooms and healthy. They get the right amount of water as well.
Now, I don’t have to worry about forgetting to water them, or if they’re getting an enough.
I think this project took me roughly 45 minutes to complete.

7. Utility Knife
Again, this is a super easy project that a beginner could complete.
