Once a week I like to head into town do some shopping!
My usual stops are; Kirklands, TJ Maxx, Ross, Hancock’s Fabrics & Michaels.
In all of those stores, I head straight for the clearance section first. I most always find the best bargains. I like to find a vase that has a crack or a shirt that’s missing a button, then I bring it home and give it some TLC and viola it’s like new, and I didn’t pay full price for it.
I wrote a post this past summer, about my love for the clearance section of stores.
I believe that’s where God shops! He heads straight for the clearance section of life, and looks for the people that are broken, purchases them with the blood of His son, then viola…makes them new!
Because I think it would be fun, I will begin a series on Friday called, “Friday Finds”. Join me each week, as I share the treasures I find while out shopping. If it’s a sale that week, I will pass it along, as well as any coupons! It’s a win/win for all of us, and I’m happy to help..:)
Anywho…onto this week’s treasures……
I took a quick stop in at Aldi’s and this week’s sale items were two things that I have desperately needed for some time now.
1. a handheld steamer, 2. a rotary cheese grater
Love these!!
These were the real deal of the day, let me tell ya!
They were in the clearance section, for….ready???? drumroll please……
Yep….$1.00/ea! Wow! I call that a real, steal of a deal!!!
Now they do need some lovin’….they’re a tad bit dirty and missing the handles.
BUT…I can fix that!
They are in great shape…sturdy and just need a touch up here and there!
Even as I was walking through the store with these bad boys stacked up in my cart, the employees would stop me and remind my what a good deal I was getting. I just smiled and said, “Oh, I know!”
I felt like a cat with a mouse hiding in my mouth. All I wanted to do was get to the check-out, pay and put them in my car before they changed their minds..LOL!
The next deal I scored was this…
Bed in a bag bedding set.
I am re-doing our middle son’s room, since he moved out and joined the Army.
This complete set was $59.99…not bad at all.
However, the bag that it came in was really ripped up and someone used 4 security tags to hold it all together. In the process, they put the security tags through the material.
I gave the clerk “the look” and she took $6.00 off the price, because those sneaky little tags left tiny holes. Not a huge problem, but ya know!
So there ya have it….my shopping finds for the week.
I’m pretty excited about those finds and can’t wait to fix those huge bins, steam a few shirts, grate some cheese and finish decorating my new spare room.
It’s Friday, so have a great weekend!

Great finds…I could use a steamer at a good price, too!
